Fishing Report Friday, January 16th 12:30 PM 4 hour private charter with a group of four friends. The ocean was flat and conditions were very comfortable. The afternoon was sunny with light winds, making it an ideal day to get out on the water.
We began the trip trolling to cover ground and search for active fish, but the bite was slow and we didn’t get the results we were hoping for. After a good effort, we switched tactics and focused on jigging and working the water more directly.
That change made the difference and the group landed a solid amberjack, giving everyone some great action and a well earned catch. We used a mix of live bait and artificial lures throughout the charter, and the crew stayed busy trying different approaches until we found what worked. Great trip with a fun group and a nice finish to the afternoon.
